У статті висвітлюються особливості формування атмосфери «саспенс» як домінантної ознаки літературного жанру «фентезі», аналіз експресивних поведінкових реакцій, спричинених станом страху, в якому перебуває персонаж. Проаналізовано підходи різних вчених щодо визначення поняття «саспенс». Встановлено, що сучасна лінгвістика все частіше звертається до вивчення мовної репрезентації внутрішнього світу людини, зокрема її емоційної сфери. (The article focuses on the peculiarities of the forming the «suspense» atmosphere as the dominant feature of the literary «fantasy» genre. It was analysed the character’ expressive behavioral reactions caused by the state of the fear in which he/she is located and approached the different scientists’ regardings to the «suspense» definition. It is established that modern linguistics are increasingly drawn to the study of language representation of person’s inner world, including its emotional sphere. This article complements and extends existing theoretical concept of the formation atmosphere «suspense» in the literary «fantasy» genre and determines the direction of the future linguistic researches to the representation the «suspense» atmosphere. The «suspense» is a complex concept that characterizes the degree of narrative intensity, created by the two story modes: strategic incomplete (based on the uncertainty that causes the reader state interest) and strategic deposition (associated with anticipation, expectations, anxiety and worry).
